Highbeam X — Privacy Policy

The Highbeam X app ("the app") is provided by Styrestrøm AS, Lyngdal, Norway. It shows the Highbeam X vehicle compatibility list to distributors and installers. We take a privacy-first approach: the app is a simple read-only viewer.

Information we collect

The only personal data we collect is an email address you choose to give us to receive new-vehicle alerts (see below). We never sell or share your data. The app has no sign-in and no advertising. Everything else it collects is anonymous diagnostics and usage statistics (described below) that cannot identify you.

Diagnostics and analytics

• Crash diagnostics (Sentry): if the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent to Sentry with technical details — device model, OS and app version, and the error/stack trace — so we can fix it. Collection of personally identifiable information is disabled; reports do not identify you.
• Anonymous usage analytics (Aptabase): the app records anonymous, aggregate events (for example which screens and vehicles are viewed) to help us improve the app and prioritise the vehicle list. This is not linked to you, uses no cookies, and contains no personal information.

Both services are GDPR-compliant. No data is used for advertising, and none is sold.

Data the app uses

• Vehicle list: the app downloads a publicly published Google Sheets CSV containing the vehicle compatibility data. This contains no personal information.
• Language preference: your chosen language is stored locally on your device only. It never leaves your device.
• External links: the app can open the installation guide and vehicle pictures in your browser. Those websites have their own privacy policies.

New-vehicle email alerts

You can optionally give us your email address to be notified when we add a newly supported vehicle to the list. If you do:

• We store your email address on our servers (Supabase) solely to send these new-vehicle notifications.
• The legal basis is your consent, which you give by subscribing.
• We do not use it for advertising, and we never sell or share it.
• You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you, or by contacting us at the address below — we will then delete your address from the list.

Photo submissions

You can optionally submit a wiring photo for a vehicle. If you do, the photo is uploaded to our servers (Supabase) and reviewed by us before it may be shown to other users. Submissions are anonymous — no account, name or email is attached. Please do not include any personal or identifying information in the photo.

Permissions

The app uses internet access to download the vehicle list and open links. Only if you choose to submit a photo will it ask for camera or photo-library access, for that action alone. It does not access your contacts, location, or files.

Children

The app is a professional tool for automotive installers and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL.
